An unexpected guest at a school play in San Angelo, Texas, led to one of the most heartwarming moments caught on camera. When elementary student Armani Guerra took the stage with the rest of her choir, she wasn’t expecting to see her mom, Shyanna, in the audience. The military parent had been in Kuwait for the past nine months. However, unbeknownst to Armani, her dad, grandma, and teachers had arranged for a surprise reunion.
When Armani noticed her mom in the crowd, she raced down the aisle to jump into her arms. Shyanna held her daughter in a long, warm hug as the rest of the audience cheered. People Magazine shared the clip on Instagram, where it has received over 20,000 likes.
“The sweetest surprise,” wrote the media outlet in the caption.
