Yesterday, country music fans were hit hard when news broke that singer Toby Keith passed away. Since then, fans and fellow artists alike have taken the time to reminisce on the country star’s life. One way folks are doing this is by honoring his iconic music. That’s exactly what Darius Rucker did when he sang one of Toby Keith’s most popular songs.

Just yesterday, Rucker had the opportunity to sing on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Odds are, he already had a setlist planned out, but that clearly changed with news of Keith’s passing. To honor him and celebrate his life, he sang God Love Her.

Considering how much the Grand Ole Opry means to the country music industry, this couldn’t have been a better time to deliver a performance in his honor. In the video, it’s clear by the sound of Rucker’s voice that he’s feeling emotional over the passing of Keith.
