When a loved one has dementia, they can’t always be around to celebrate huge milestones in life. This heartbreaking struggle can be seen in a viral Facebook video that is said to have been produced by Network Media LLC and Olivia. In it, a woman named Julia wants her Dad to walk her down the aisle. Unfortunately, because her Dad suffers from dementia, he didn’t recognize her.
But that didn’t stop Julia from trying to make her big day as special as possible for the both of them. Shortly before the ceremony, the bride-to-be ushered her Dad outside for a very special surprise. There, she had a canvas with paint waiting for him. Why? Because Julia’s Dad had always been an artist, and painting is the one thing that can bring him back.
As her Dad began to lightly paint the canvas, his memory started to come back. In realizing the bride sitting next to him was his Julia, he began to tell her how beautiful she looked, sending them both into tears.
