Dad With Cancer Worries Who Will Feed Stray Cats When He’s Gone — Family Keeps The Tradition Alive

A man with pancreatic cancer couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen to the stray cats he’d been feeding. His daughter shared the most beautiful story about him on TikTok after he passed away. This man was so devoted to the strays at his workplace, he’d even drive there on weekends to feed them! Dad was concerned that no one would take care of the kitties once he was gone.

“He used to drive 30 miles round trip on the weekends and holidays so the cats wouldn’t have to go without food when he was off from work,” Lindsey, the man’s daughter, wrote in her caption. “I got him an automatic pet feeder one year for Father’s Day. Over the years he’d find kittens and once he found puppies.”

My dad passed from pancreatic cancer on 4/17. There are stray cats where he worked that he took care of for years. He used to drive 30 miles round trip on the weekends and holidays so the cats wouldn’t have to go without food when he was off from work. I got him an automatic pet feeder one year for Father’s Day. Over the years he’d find kittens and once he found puppies. He’d work with the animal shelter to ensure they were picked up safely and he took in the female cat there to get her spayed. One of the first things my dad worried after hearing that he had a pancreatic tumor that was likely cancerous was who would feed the stray cats at his work. That’s just the kind of man he was. Since he was diagnosed and has passed away my mom and I have provided cat food for my dad’s coworker to continue feeding them. Small acts of kindness may seem small but they still matter. I miss you dad 💔 #cats #straycat #imissyoudad #actsofkindness #animals #animallover

Most people would be more concerned about their own health after receiving a potentially life-threatening diagnosis, and rightly so! However, this dad was genuinely worried about the stray cats he’d been feeding and what would happen to them if he should pass away from cancer.

“One of the first things my dad worried after hearing that he had a pancreatic tumor that was likely cancerous was who would feed the stray cats at his work,” Lindsey said. “That’s just the kind of man he was.”

After passing away from cancer, this man left a beautiful legacy behind him.

Thankfully, this thoughtful and caring man was surrounded by equally generous family members. When cancer took his life, Lindsey and her mom started feeding the stray cats on his behalf. Although they couldn’t actually make the daily trek to the late man’s workplace, they came up with another solution. Now, the two women purchase pet food for one of his coworkers to distribute among the strays.

Isn’t this a beautiful way to honor this sweet father’s memory? He’d be so touched to know that his partner and daughter were feeding the stray cats for him after he passed away from cancer.
