Even if you didn’t grow up with much, coming down the stairs–or through the hallway–on Christmas morning was one of the best feelings in the world. Whether the tree was overflowing with gifts or a few simple toys lay strewn on the floor, Christmas time meant making memories you’ll never forget.
The forward thinking dad responsible for the time-lapse video below wanted to remember every moment of his kids holiday experience. He started filming in 1985 and kept it up for 25 years without fail.
In just a few minutes, we get to see these kids excitedly scooting down the stairs as youngins, stalk down the steps as teenagers and joke together in their 20’s at dad’s “sappy” tradition.
Looking back, I bet they wouldn’t trade the final result for anything.
No matter your stage in life, remembering these moments and making some of your own is a beautiful example of family bonding we all need to emulate.
