It’s a great day for Costco members who use the GLP-1 drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic. The warehouse club entered into a partnership with Novo Nordisk to offer the drugs at half price, per People. Members must have a prescription and pay out of pocket through the Costco Member Prescription Program. The drugs will cost $499 for a four-week supply. A Novo Nordisk representative confirmed the news to People, adding Costco Executive Members and Citibank Visa cardholders would receive an additional 2% discount on their Wegovy or Ozempic, subject to applicable terms.

Costco Offering GLP-1 Medications Could Help Customers
Novo Nordisk shared why parting with the Costco Member Prescription Program for GLP-1 medications made sense for everyone.
“Our collaboration with Costco is another step forward by Novo Nordisk in making real Wegovy and Ozempic easier to access and afford — right where people already shop,” Dave Moore, Executive Vice President, U.S. Operations of Novo Nordisk Inc., shared in a statement to People.
“By partnering with one of the country’s most trusted retailers, we are meeting people where they are and connecting them to real, FDA-approved medicines in our premium pen devices with our $499 self-pay offer. Everyone deserves care that’s simple, reliable, and within reach — and we’re proud to lead the way in helping make that a reality,” he added.
Costco is likely to attract many customers who purchase GLP-1 medications from them. According to a 2024 KFF study, one in eight adults reported taking a GLP-1 medication. That represents roughly 12% of the adult population in the United States. The study also found that homes with an income of $99,000 annuary and higher claimed to have heard “a lot” about the drugs.
If you’re a Costco member, will you start getting your GLP-1 medication from the pharmacy? It certainly makes sense if you’re already there shopping anyway.
