Chipotle’s “Most-Searched Menu Item On Google” Is Back!

Good news, Chipotle fans, the restaurant’s “most-searched” item—Carne Asada—is returning to the menu in both the U.S. and Canada!

The marinated steak joined the menu as a protein option in 2019 and instantly became a hit. Not only did it quickly become Chipotle’s “most-searched menu item on Google,” it also became the “second-most searched limited-time offering among all national restaurant brands.” Despite its popularity, it never sticks around for long. This will be the fourth time it’s returned.

Over Labor Day weekend, the restaurant teased that something was making a comeback. Fans assumed Chipotle was talking about Carne Asada, and they couldn’t contain their excitement.

Chipotle’s Carne Asada Returns On September 4th

On September 2nd, Chipotle’s president and chief brand officer, Chris Brandt, confirmed everyone’s suspicions and shared that the beloved steak was, in fact, returning. He also detailed what makes it so special.

“Our Carne Asada is an elevated, chef-driven recipe that attracts new guests, reignites our Chipotle Rewards members, and excites our restaurant teams,”  he said in a statement. “The protein’s rich flavor profile is the perfect pairing for any gameday, whether you’re watching marquee matchups from home or tailgating at the stadium.”

Unfortunately, Carne Asada will remain a limited-time offering for now. So make sure to get your fill when it officially hits locations on September 4th.
