Adorable Grandparents Go Viral After Chick-Fil-A Employee Shares Their Story On Twitter.

Of all the customers who come through her line, Rachel Curry loves one elderly couple the most.

Rachel works at Chick-fil-A in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She has gotten to know a lot of the restaurant’s regulars, but David and Millie quickly became some of her favorite people to serve. For one thing, Rachel loves how the couple is always telling sweet stories about their two granddaughters, Maggie and Cat Beal.

David and Millie helped raise their granddaughters. They got into the habit of using Maggie’s name to place their food order at Chick-fil-A, and one day Rachel asked them why. The couple said they simply didn’t want to use their real names, but then they went on and on about how wonderful their granddaughters are! They are especially proud that Maggie recently made the Dean’s list at North Carolina State University.

Rachel thought it was so cute that she decided to see if Twitter could work its magic. She sent out a message that she hoped would get to Maggie, adding, “Twitter do your thing” to the end of the message.

Twitter definitely did its thing! Rachel’s tweet began to circulate, and before she knew it it had been shared hundreds of thousands of times. Meanwhile, on the NC State campus, Maggie suddenly got a flurry of messages from her friends back in Mount Airy. She immediately replied to the tweet to thank Rachel.

Maggie didn’t think much of it, except that it was such a sweet thing to do. “I read it and responded to thank her, and I figured that would be the end of it,”she said. “I went to bed, and when I woke up it had thousands of likes and retweets. At first I thought it was a mistake or that my phone was just glitching, so I had my roommate check it out too and we both just couldn’t believe it.â€

The tweet had gone viral, and no one could believe that Twitter actually united these two strangers in such an incredible way. Maggie sat down and started responding to all of the messages and retweets that she could manage, but the sheer volume was overwhelming. She even shared a few photos of “Nana and Papa” that had the whole internet swooning.

“Hey Twitter, meet the sweet angel grandparents behind the tweet 🙂 BFF’s of 55+ years and counting,” Maggie wrote. She says she is so grateful to Rachel for sending out congratulations on her accomplishment, and for reminding her just how much her grandparents care about her. They’re so proud of their granddaughters that they’re literally bragging about them at Chick-fil-A. How sweet is that?

“I love that Rachel sent that out and that people responded so well because in this day and age, our social media can get bogged down with a lot of negativity,” said Maggie. “So for people to have this kind, essentially pure moment from a pair of small town grandparents was really special.â€

“We’re so close that I classify them as my best friends, and they’re so special to me,”Maggie said. We can understand why! David and Millie seem like the very best kind of people. Congratulations on making the Dean’s List, Maggie. Thanks to your sweet grandparents, all of Twitter is proud of you!
