In 1983, the world was introduced to Clark W. Griswold, and the family vacation was never quite the same. Chevy Chase starred in the National Lampoon’s Vacation series with Beverly D’Angelo for four films in the franchise and reprised his role for a cameo in the 2015 remake starring Ed Helms.

A Griswold family vacation was always a comedy of errors from the start. While Clark had the best of intentions, it seems his pans always went awry. In the original Vacation film, Clark and his wife Ellen, played by D’Angelo, take their kids Rusty and Audrey on a quintessential road trip from Chicago to California to visit Wally World.
One of the movie’s most memorable storylines involves Clark driving the metallic pea Wagon Queen Family Truckster and seeing a beautiful woman in a red sports car, who seems to be interested in him. Christie Brinkley was the driver of the car and credited only as “The Girl In The Ferrari.” Clark and the pretty girl flirted in the film, but he ultimately stayed true to his roots as a family man.
Four Decades Later, Christie Brinkley And Chevy Chase Reunited For a Nostalgic Photo Op
Christie posted pics of herself and Chevy on Instagram 41 years after the film debuted. She captioned the photos, “Vacation is always over too soon!”
Fans agreed and loved seeing the pair back together.
Someone commented, “How wonderful that you can get together! You are such a positive spirit!”
This person agreed, “Ohhh love this. The funniest movie ever.”
Another fan admitted Christie would have turned his head, too. “The sight of you in a convertible certainly would have distracted me too—to say the least!”
Some hoped this pic meant a reunion was in the works, “Ahh yes! This is greatness 💞Perhaps a sequel? cue..holiday road.”
