Cher Posts Tearful Goodbye to Her Dear Friend Bob Mackie

Cher and legendary costume designer Bob Mackie had a very special relationship. For decades, he made sure that she was styled to perfection. The pair often stepped out together as she wore his iconic sequined creations. Bob passed away on September 14, 2026, at age 87 following a battle with pneumonia. After hearing the news, Cher posted about her dear friend Bob Mackie on X.

“My dear Bob has gone up to heaven. Knowing him,he’s bringing sequins, beads, & his sketch pad. Good nite sweet Prince Luv Me Dyslexic,” she wrote.

There’s no denying Cher and Bob Mackie had a very special friendship and loved each other dearly. The star’s fans made sure to wrap their arms around her following his passing.

“I sent my love to you and Mr. Mackie’s family. He knew how to dress you and everyone he touched. I dream still of wearing one of his creations; how blessed you were. Thank you for looking so fabulous!! Heaven will be full of beautiful stars that missed him,” a fan wrote.

This person agreed, writing, “Bob, designer for the Angels in heaven. He did the most incredible work for the Angels on earth and so loved. Bob, you and your work will always be honored.”
