Mom Goes Into Emergency Labor At Home, Then Looks Down & Starts To Pray.

“Oh my God, please live. Don’t die on me.”

That was Chastity’s first thought when she delivered her baby boy – at home. The 20-year-old mom was supposed to give birth to Lawrence, Leni for short, on September 7, but he came months early. Chastity was at home in May when she says, “I didn’t even know I was in labor.” When she first laid eyes on her baby boy, he was blue and purple.

As if by a miracle, though, that’s when Sacramento paramedics showed up at her house.

They wrapped Leni up to keep him warm and got to work resuscitating the micro-preemie.

Leni survived, and the ambulance rushed him to Sutter Health’s NICU in Sacramento, California. The tough part had just begun. Newborns like Leni typically have a five percent chance of survival.

But he was determined to fight.

Chastity said, “He wasn’t supposed to live through the first week he was born … He had an IV in his head. He had so many surgeries.”

But four months and five pounds later – he weighs 6 pounds, 5 ounces – Leni is going home!

“He’s definitely my miracle baby,” Chastity said.

We’re so happy for this family! Thanks to the quick response time by Sacramento’s finest, this beautiful baby boy got a second chance at life.
