22-Yr-Old Celebrates College Graduation By Getting His Groove On.

Chance Kennedy spent four years dreaming of the day he would walk across the stage, but the novel coronavirus pandemic changed his plans.

Still, the 22-year-old wasn’t about to leave North Carolina Central University without commemorating the milestone. So when the big day came, he celebrated the way he knows best: by dancing.

In an Instagram video recorded by his brother, we see Chance bust a move as he walks through a parking lot in his cap and gown.

While he pretends to sob at the beginning, the new graduate goes on to radiate pride, joy, and raw talent!

“I came into college 2016 dancing and leave in 2020 dancing,” he told GMA. “It’s really the perfect way for me to leave.”

As you might be able to tell by now, Chance is someone who always looks on the bright side. Not only did he earn a degree in business administration, but he also played on the school’s football team for four years.

“So, even with the pandemic, I wanted to see the positive side of it,” he said. “Even though [I] didn’t get to graduate and walk with friends, we still had four years of college and that’s something to celebrate.”

What a wonderful perspective! Nothing can take away from what he and all the other graduating seniors have accomplished, not even COVID-19. While the future remains uncertain, Chance is excited to pursue his MBA next year and hopes to land his dream job in the entertainment industry.

Try not to smile when you see Chance in his element in the video below, and share this story to congratulate him. For more joy and hope, check out the Coronavirus Good News Dashboard.
