The Roman Catholic Church might be considered a bit stodgy and old-fashioned. But not all priests are the same. They understand that the church’s future depends on younger generations, and they do their best to relate to them. Many priests want to help youth deepen their faith in God and let them know they’re real people, just like them. Fr. Nonso Ohanaka, chaplain of Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School in Henderson, Tennessee, takes his mission seriously. During a recent basketball game, the dancing priest took the court to show everyone how the Holy Spirit moves him, and it was epic.

Before He Was a Dancing Priest, Fr. O Was a Millennial
The second we heard that haunting “Hey, Hey,” we knew what was coming. Fr. O had NSYNC’s Bye, Bye, Bye choreography down perfectly. He hit the strides, moved his shoulders, and bobbed his head like one of the boys back in the day. At the end, the dancing priest hit the ground in the splits for a huge finale. Then, he got back up like it was nothing, but we know he was saying, “Thank you, God!”
Of course, Fr. O’s video became a viral smash, and people fell in love with his moves and his heart.
“Father O brought out the moves at halftime of the JPII vs Father Ryan Men’s Basketball game,” the caption reads. “We’ll be waiting to see what moves you bring @fatherryanhighschool @frhscampusministry when JPII comes to your court.”
“Before he was a priest, he was a millennial. Amen!” A fan prayed.
“Millennial here: can confirm he did that choreo accurately and perfectly,” another person agreed.
Fans loved the dancing priest and what he’s doing for the church.
“Awesome Father, thanks for showing the fun human side!” Someone wrote.
“We need more priests like this, God bless him. Young people need this,” another person wrote.
