When this cat mom heard her pet’s adorable meows, she had no idea the animal was trying to warn her about the bat in the house! Alex thought that the kitty was just feeling especially chatty, so she decided to start filming. However, she eventually realized that the cat, Azula, had her eyes fixed on something in the room. There was also a growing sense of urgency in her meows.

Mom followed the kitty’s line of sight, and, sure enough, there was an intruder hanging from the ceiling fan! It turns out that the cat had been meowing at a stray bat who had made themself comfortable in the lighting fixture. Alex caught some incredible close-up footage of the flying critter’s little face. Be aware that there is some NSFW language in the video below.

“Started recording Azula because I thought her meows were cute, then I saw what she was talking about,” wrote the cat mom in her video.

In order to satisfy the kitty’s curiosity, the woman’s partner carried Azula a little closer to the ceiling fan. This cat got a good look at the bat she’d been meowing at before Dad finally got down to business. Cute as the winged creature was, they were still wild. Both Alex and her partner knew they had to find a way to set the animal free.

Getting this bat out of the house ended up being easier than they expected.

Cautiously, the man approached the bat with a plastic garbage bag, hoping to capture them. However, the critter got startled and flew away — right out the door! How convenient was that?

Of course, one of the biggest worries when dealing with bats is rabies. So, everyone in the house got vaccinated, just in case.

“Just in time for Halloween,” Alex joked in her caption. “All of us have been vaccinated for rabies.”

Phew, what an adventure! Most of the time, there’s no reason to be afraid of bats. However, it’s always important to get vaccinated for rabies if you find one inside your house. We’re glad no one in this situation (including the bat) got hurt!
