There’s a real place called “Cat Island” in Japan. And what’s happening there is making the internet fall in love.

The Japanese island of Aoshima, affectionately named “Cat Island,” has been a dreamland for feline fanatics ever since the internet caught wind of the odd sanctuary.

The human inhabitants of the island realized a food shortage was looming… so they asked the internet for help.  In a brilliant/desperate move, one of the caretakers tweeted out a simple request.

And got way more than he bargained for!  Here’s the scoop, with pics:
