Community Rallies To Help 9-Yr-Old With Terminal Cancer Complete His Bucket List.

Carter Escobar doesn’t have much time left, but he has a lot to look forward to thanks to his family and neighbors.

In 2018, the boy from Forth Worth, Texas, was diagnosed with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Since then, his treatments have stopped. But the 9-year-old is having the time of his life fulfilling everything he’s dreamed of doing.

Rather than dwell on circumstances out of their control, the Escobars decided to fill the rest of their son’s life with exciting new adventures. So they helped Carter write a bucket list, then set out to make each item happen.

“We just want him to feel good and get to do things that are going to make him happy with memories,” his mom, Rachel, told NBC DFW.

His parents weren’t the only ones determined to make his wishes come true. When the local community heard about the bucket list, they came through in a huge way. Carter’s school arranged to make him principal for a day…

…and the Fort Worth Police Department swore him in as an honorary officer!

Not only did Carter sink a shot for Brewer High School’s basketball team, but he also scored floor seats at a Dallas Mavericks game! A special message from former Mavericks player Dirk Nowitzki was even played at the Brewer game.

And we can’t forget the cherry on top: Carter rode in a Ferrari! But he’s not done yet; there’s much more awaiting the little boy.

Surrounded by so many caring and supportive people, there’s no doubt Carter will check off every last item on his list. Enjoy yourself, brave boy. You deserve all the fun and happiness in the world.
