While her peers were busy tackling life in middle school, young Carly Rose Sonenclar was adjusting to life in the spotlight. Back in 2012, when she was just 13 years old, she stunned audiences everywhere with her impressive soulful performances on the second season of The X Factor.

With a voice that big, it didn’t exactly come as a shock when Carly won a standing ovation with her audition song, “Feeling Good.”

Yes, yes she is. Such a diva, in fact, that she advanced to the finals, where she gave a rousing rendition of “How Do I Live”as a duet with LeAnn Rimes. Finally, a gospel choir joined her onstage as she gave a soulful and heartfelt rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.â€
