Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel is battling an incurable form of spine and brian cancer, but he has hopes and dreams for his life beyond survival. He’s currently in the process of being sworn into as many law enforcement agencies as an honorary police officer as he can. By doing this, he hopes to bring more awareness to cancer in children, according to KTAL.
Originally, his goal was to reach 100 law enforcement agencies. However, over 800 have sworn him in!
Unfortunately, dressing in uniform as a 12-year-old sometimes makes the young man with cancer a target for bullies. The young man’s father, Theodis Daniel, explained to the Houston Chronicle that this has happened more than once.
“Every time they see him in his uniform he gets a lot of laughs, some of them may ridicule him and make jokes about him,” he said.
Unfortunately, some people make fun of DJ’s uniform.

However, this time, the kids who bullied the boy with cancer are learning a lesson. After watching the video of DJ being harassed, more and more viewers are rushing to support the young man in the comments. Meanwhile, the bullies are receiving a fair amount of criticism for their behavior. One of them even called DJ to apologize!
Of course, the 12-year-old isn’t interested in any kind of retribution. Instead, he simply hopes that these kids will know better for next time.
“Honestly from that video, I would just tell them to stop being mean and before you post something you must ask permission,” he said. “You never know if you are going to post something and might get in trouble for it, so what’s the point of posting it anyway.”
You have to admire this boy’s wisdom and courage in the midst of everything he’s facing! Keep spreading your inspiring message, DJ.
