Doctors Said She Would Never Walk Again But This Bride Just Marched Down The Aisle.

Brittney Bedwell of Monroe, Indiana, is literally a walking miracle.

Four years ago, she was involved in an ATV accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. She was hospitalized for months, fighting through multiple surgeries and overcoming a severe infection.

She began a grueling physical therapy program in hopes of regaining movement in her legs, but her doctors warned her not to get her hopes up.

“A doctor told me that I was never going to walk again, and I didn’t want to believe that, and I did for a while and I had depression and anxiety, but once I got over that, I just woke up one day and I just like, started feeling some stuff in my legs and I knew that it wasn’t over,” Brittney said.

Encouraged, Brittney fought even harder to regain her strength. Spurring her on was the love of her fiancé, Glen Hitchcock, and her supportive family.

While Brittney was still recovering, Glen popped the question in her hospital room. She decided then and there that she would not use a wheelchair to walk down the aisle on her wedding day.

“It was really important to me because I got to watch my sisters walk down the aisle with [our dad], and I knew I wanted to do that, so I had to push myself even harder,” she explained.

On July 10, Brittney’s wish came true!

Using a walker, Brittney headed down the aisle on her father’s arm in front of all of her friends and relatives. Her sister, Ashley Sieb, said Brittney left her “speechless” that day.

“Brittney Bedwell inspires me to never give up,” Ashley wrote on Facebook. “To believe in miracles. To stay strong. To defy the odds. To love deeply and freely. Happy wedding day, baby sister. You are STUNNING and STRONG!”

The newlywed is not finished with her mission to walk again. She said she is more incentivized than ever to work hard in therapy, especially since she just found out she’s four months pregnant — another thing her doctors said would never happen.

“I have my kids, I have my husband, and I have my family and friends, and they all are in my corner so I’m pushing for them because they’re pushing for me,” she said. “I already have therapy lined up for next week, so I’m getting out of this chair.”

Brittney is overcoming the odds and defying her prognosis every single day! Next time you’re feeling down, just remember how hard this bride worked to do something we all take for granted.
