There are good reasons why Simone Biles is considered the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time) in gymnastics. There are all the medals she’s won, of course. But that’s not the only way she continues to contribute to the world of gymnastics. When a gymnast is the first to complete a new move in competition, that move (or element, as they’re called) is officially named after them. So far, Biles has five elements! Two are on vault, one is on beam, and the other two are on floor.

Needless to say, these elements are considered quite a challenge. Still, that didn’t stop Brie Clark from giving one a shot during the final rotation of Clemson’s home meet. And, in doing so, she became the very first collegiate gymnast to complete the Biles I on the floor! This had the athlete doing a round off, back handspring with a half-twist, followed by a front somersault with a double twist. See Clark pull off this move in the video below!

College Athlete Brie Clark Stuns the World With Nearly Flawless Delivery of Biles I
Clark is the very first woman to complete the Biles I at the collegiate level. That said, only four other women have done so in total — and that includes Biles! So, needless to say, Clark has garnered quite a bit of attention in the gymnastics world. In fact, even Biles herself took the time to express her excitement for Clark.
“Congrats,” Biles wrote in a reply to Clark pulling off the move, adding, “& closing out black history month! YES MA’AM.”
Luckily, Clark’s reaction to Biles’ comment was caught on camera. Check out this wholesome moment in the video below!
“Even in slow motion I can’t believe that,” someone shares in reply to Clark’s performance, another adding, “Ugh not me cheesing for her when she landed like I’m a proud mom.”
“Sometimes you gotta see it’s possible before you try,” a third person points out. “Simone has inspired generations!!!! This is so dope!!!”
