Boyfriend’s Witty Homemade Commercial Has Internet Fighting Over Used Honda.

Los Angeles writer and producer Max Lanman found a way to put his professional skills to use for a personal endeavor, creating a bona fide commercial complete with aerial views of one of the most iconic stretches of highway in the country– all to help his girlfriend sell her car.

The footage includes sweeping views of the Pacific as the car travels along California’s legendary Highway 1.

The clip starts out with a young woman — an actress portraying Max’s girlfriend — buckling up, then pouring herself a cup of coffee. For safety reasons, the coffee maker and carafe are also restrained.

She and her cat then hit the road, the 1996 Honda Accord winding along the highway.

“Introducing a used 1996 Honda Accord, a car for people who have life figured out and just need a way to get somewhere,”the narrator intones. “Luxury is a state of mind.â€

The video, which was posted earlier this week, states the car’s mileage at 141,095 miles with an opening bid of $499. Since the video’s gone viral, an auction on eBay has hiked that price up quite a bit, now standing at $30,100.

Maybe Max can put that money towards a wedding– the fine print at the end of the video clarifies “Cat and coffee pot not included. Girlfriend is now fiancee.”
