Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can be the most meaningful. Actor Viola Davis shared one of these moments in a video on Instagram. Although the full context isn’t known, what we can be gathered from the video is warming hearts everywhere. It starts with a kid talking to a security camera at someone’s front door.
The kid starts to compliment the person who lives there even though he has no idea who they are. He tells them that they’re a good person and that there will always be someone that cares about them. In the middle of this heartfelt speech, however, a group of kids comes along. One of them interrupts by ringing the doorbell. and they promptly run away. Not only does this not deter the kind child from his message, it only makes him more confident with his words.
“Ignore them,” he said, once again speaking to the person who lives there. “They’re losers. They’re ding-dong-ditching you. I’m just trying to say something nice. I don’t know what they’re doing – they’re running away and stuff. I’m just trying to say that you matter, man. Or girl. Whoever you are, you matter to someone. Just keep that in mind. Don’t forget that.”
His message was intended for the person who lives at that home but has since gone on to encourage folks all around the world. We have a feeling that’s exactly what this sweet kid would want.
