People have a way of leaving a lasting impact on our lives – even the ones we’ve never met.

We have a feeling that will be the case for Grace Warrior and her late grandpa, Steve Irwin. This beloved wildlife expert passed away in 2006, long before his grandchild was born. But before Grace has even turned 2 years old, it appears she can already recognize him.

In a video shared by her mom, Bindi Irwin, we get a glimpse into the day she and her family had at the Australia Zoo. As they passed by a mural of the late Irwin and his wife, Terri, little Grace stopped for a moment to take a look.

In addition to being fascinated by the koala in the mural, Grace seemed to recognize the human folks in it, too. Mamma Irwin confirmed this herself when she asked her toddler to point to who she calls Bunny and Grandpa Crocodile.

“Where’s Grandpa Crocodile?” she asked.

Adorably, little Grace pointed right at him! Needless to say, this was quite an emotional moment for Irwin.

“She loves them (and koalas) dearly,” Irwin captioned the video. “On every zoo walk she searches for pictures of her grandparents and it is beyond beautiful.”
