Beloved Raspberries Singer Eric Carmen Remembered Fondly After Passing Away At 74

This morning, Eric Carmen’s wife, Amy, shared that the singer passed away at the age of 74. Although he did so in his sleep, the loss is devastating nonetheless to the music legend’s friends, family, and fans alike. That’s why so many have taken to social media to honor his decades-long career, which includes hits like Hungry Eyes and All By Myself.

“It brought him great joy to know, that for decades, his music touched so many and will be
his lasting legacy,” Amy shares in a statement made on Carmen’s website.

Over the course of decades, Carmen truly did leave a lasting impact on the music industry. It started with his role as frontman for The Raspberries. From there, he had a hit solo career in the 70s and 80s that continues to have an impact on music today.

“I just heard the news that my lifelong friend and former client, Eric Carmen has passed away,” Carmen’s manager, David Spero says. “His talents were world renowned and his legacy as a songwriter is known throughout the industry. His songs were done by everyone from Celine Dion to Hank Williams Jr. He will be missed. RIP Eric!”

As fans mourn the loss of this beloved singer, his family has a simple request during this time of mourning.
