Bluey proudly flew over New York City during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which came as a surprise to many.

Hours before the parade began marching, teams were carefully filling the iconic balloons while hundreds of fans watched. As Bluey was coming to life, a loud burst echoed through the streets, which signaled a major problem.
A TikTok video posted by ABC 4 New York showed that the beloved cartoon was nearly filled when one of his hands exploded.
“Bluey went kablooey!” an onlooker yelled as a roar of mournful cries broke out.
Of course, Bluey has been one of the most popular cartoon characters for years. The Australian dog, from the Disney series of the same name, is loved by children and adults alike. So, his demise broke hearts around the country.
Crews Worked Magic To Fix Bluey For The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Fortunately, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade officials worked magic on the 51-foot-long balloon—and he soared above the crowd on November 28th as planned.
“Hey all, the balloons are ready and I’m glad to report that Bluey is recovering!” NYPD Chief Of Patrol announced on Twitter on Wednesday night. “Bluey is going to play like a champion tomorrow.”
To a loud contingent of cheers from the crowd, Bluey and her keepy uppy balloon!

Because of the near-loss, onlookers were especially excited to see Bluey in the parade.
“Me, at my big age of 27, awake at 8:30 am to watch the Bluey balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” a happy fan wrote on X.
