Beloved 1990s Comedy Finally Getting Sequel

Romy and Michele

The year was 1997, and Romy White and Michele Weinberger wanted to attend their 10-year reunion at Eulalia High School. They left their home in Los Angeles and returned to Tucson, Arizona, ready to impress the “A-Group” mean girls from their past. They wore business suits and told their former classmates they invented Post-it notes. Sadly for them, an A-Group girl blows their cover, and Romy and Michele, played by Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow, are exposed as liars. Because Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion is a perfect 1990s comedy, the girls win in the end and open their own fashion boutique. Now it’s 2026, and wouldn’t you love to know what Romy and Michele have been up to for the last 30 years? Good news, we’re about to find out.

Romy and Michele are Getting a Sequel

While rumors about a Romy and Michele sequel have been swirling for quite some time, 20th Century Fox finally confirmed the movie on June 8, 2026.

The comment section immediately got excited. Including a reply from Mira Sorvino herself.

“Is that an earthquake? No it’s Ramonnnnn one of my all time favorite movies!” A fan joked.

“It’s happening Romy and Michele are back. OMG. What a movie,” another person wrote.

Of course, fans quoted their favorite lines and shared their favorite scenes, eagerly anticipating a new movie. This person has one hope that we all want to see: “THERE HAD BETTER BE A DANCE SEQUENCE,” they wrote.

No word on when the movie will launch, but 20th Century Fox tagged Mira, Lisa, Disney+, and Hulu. We can’t wait.
