Growing up, my parents had their hands full with 4 children. My dad used to tell my sisters the age-old joke, “no boyfriends till you’re 35,″ and though my sisters never totally believed him, their responses were still pretty funny.

The truth is, all fathers have to prepare themselves for the day their beloved daughter comes home and announces she has a boyfriend. You may remember a video that went viral featuring 4-yr-old Kennedy Kirkland. Little Kennedy came home one day to announce that she had her very own boyfriend. As you’d imagine, Dad quickly assured her she wasn’t allowed to have a boyfriend. The adorable exchange was just too good.
This time around, Twitter user Brandon Jualler‘s brother was hanging out with his brother and niece, when the boyfriend subject came up.

The video opens with Brandon’s brother comforting his daughter as she cries. She calms down after a moment and Dad looks at her and says, “It’s ok darlin… but you still can’t have a boyfriend.”
The little one’s response is too adorable to handle and immediately starts bawling. It’s clear she’s too young to know what dad’s saying, but the exchange couldn’t be any more priceless.
