Baby Freaks Out Over Simple Toy & His Facial Expressions Are Hilarious.

We all love seeing people’s reactions to anything surprising, like a grandpa laying eyes for the first time on an old car his grandson renovated or a dog’s first introduction to his new sibling.

But it’s especially fun to watch babies’ expressions change because absolutely everything is new and their reactions are pure and unfiltered. Take the baby boy in the video below, for example.

Variations of this shocked expression flitter across his face for the entire 30 seconds of the video. But why? I mean, it’s just a round thing made out of plastic, totally inanimate. So… what’s all the excitement about?

This:

These pastel-colored balls keep burbling up out of that little sinkhole down there, rolling around, and then, presto, just like that, disappearing into thin air. How’d they do that? Of course, that’s just how it appears to this little tyke, since he’s not old enough to understand that just because he can’t see something doesn’t mean it’s not there.

This is just a more sophisticated version of the peek-a-boo game that adults just love playing with babies at bathtime, but the reaction’s pretty much the same. See how his little mouth gapes open in total astonishment, and how his eyes are as wide as saucers?

And it’s not just his face that gets animated, either, it’s his entire upper body! His little arms flap about helplessly, like one part of him wants to swat at the balls like a cat, while another part says it’s better to just sit back for now and enjoy the show.

Parents really should enjoy this stage while they can. It won’t be long before they become teenagers and those astonished baby expressions are replaced with something more along these lines:
