Woman Moves Wedding Up So Dying Grandma Can Attend From Her Hospital Bed.

Avis Russell battled lung cancer for a long time, but her condition rapidly declined in the summer of 2021. Her family worried that she wouldn’t make it to the big wedding they had planned for her granddaughter Sean. Sean was ready to marry the man she’s loved since middle school, but she couldn’t imagine tying the knot without Avis there.

Without telling her beloved grandma, Sean arranged to move her wedding ceremony a bit closer. In fact, she moved the event right into Avis’ room at Methodist Hospital Northeast in San Antonio, Texas!

In a viral video, Sean and her new husband are decked out in their full wedding attire, experiencing their first dance as Avis watches from her bed. She gives each of them a long, tight hug, clearly savoring the priceless moment.

Thanks to Sean’s ingenuity, Avis had a front row seat at the wedding, and she couldn’t have been happier to be there. “Avis spent some of her final moments on this earth celebrating and loving on her granddaughter,” the hospital wrote on Instagram.

What a precious memory that this family will cherish forever. Rest in peace, Avis!
