In a recent video uploaded to Facebook, we get a glimpse into what is possibly the most Australian thing to have ever happened! A man and his children were out for a walk when they discovered a small kangaroo sticking out of a cattle grate in the road. The poor little guy was stuck face down in the grate, and it was clear that he wasn’t ever going to be able to escape without a helping human hand.

Kangaroos are notoriously bad-tempered and dangerous, however, so helping the creature get unstuck was a risky proposition. “These guys have a kick on them like a bit of a horse,” the dad said as he cautiously approached the animal.

He grabbed ahold of the kangaroo’s hind leg and thick, muscular tail and gave a gentle yank. “What a bad way to be, mate,” the man murmurs as he starts to pull a bit more vigorously.
Soon, with a little gentle wiggling, the animal starts to budge. “Get away, get away” the kid holding the camera warns. Finally, with one good tug, the kangaroo is free!

As he bounds away across the plain, one of the children calls cheerfully after him, “Bye! Hope you have a good life!”
“Silly buggers, ” the dad says with a good-natured shake of his head.
