“That Looks Like Me!” Aunt Is Touched When She Sees Who’s In Nephew’s New Painting.

The name Lenny McNaughton might not be recognized around the world just yet, but give him time.

At just 8 years old, the Australian grammar school student is already a professional artist with a growing client list. He’s even been dubbed “Van Gogh Jr.” by some admirers. Recently, Lenny entered a new painting in the Young Archie competition within the Archibald Prize show, and it holds a special place in his heart. The subject of his abstract work is his aunt Steph, and the likeness is stunning.

Lenny didn’t tell Auntie Steph about the portrait, so when she came to the exhibition she got the most delightful surprise imaginable.

“That looks like me,” she says casually as she strolls past the work. Then, the penny drops. “What? That is me!!”

As if that weren’t a sweet enough surprise, wait until you hear what the portrait’s description says! Our hearts would absolutely melt!
