Dog Slept In Mom & Dad’s Bed Every Night, Finds Sweetest New Spot When Baby Arrives.

Many parents-to-be are understandably wary about how their pets will accept the new addition to the family.
Daily routines change, rooms get reconfigured, they won’t get as much attention as they’re used to, and they’ll miss more than a few daily walks as the family adjusts.

All these changes surely came into play when Corey Jordan and his fiancée, Elsa, brought home their son Noah, who was born earlier this month.

Dogs are creatures of habit, but Corey and Elsa were surprised to discover their dog, Astro, had an uncanny ability to understand the situation and adapt accordingly.

It appears to be a case of love at first sight, but maybe that’s because Astro already had an idea that Noah was on his way. Throughout the pregnancy, Corey said, Astro stuck to Elsa like Velcro and would “occasionally lay his head on her belly or put his paw on it and just hang out.â€

When they brought their baby boy home from the hospital, Astro seemed a little confused. He sniffed Noah, then turned around and sniffed Elsa. “Huh?”he seemed to say. “What’s going on here?â€

Then he turned back to Noah and took another whiff, and suddenly, something clicked. He instinctively understood the newest member of the pack had finally arrived.

Now Astro takes his job as Noah’s protector very seriously.

Corey and Elsa adopted Astro several years ago, and every night since, he’s slept snuggled in between the two at night. Now, he sleeps on the floor, right beside Noah’s crib.

“To see Astro give up his spot, for any amount of time at night, is surprising because he has always slept there,” Corey said.

And whenever Noah wakes up in the middle of the night, Astro stands at attention, watching intently as Corey and Elsa rock him back to sleep. He also supervises all diaper changes, “looking up making sure we’re doing it right.â€
