Helena Elias is an artist. She has a husband and an infant. In her spare time, she paints small decorative items around the house. Before the baby, she would paint random things on the furniture to see how long it took her husband to notice. When the baby was on the way, she began painting little surprises near the floor for him to find when he started crawling. Her most recent project has been creating a faux stained-glass window.

The kitchen windows have six panes on each of the two doors. The windows are perfect for a stained-glass effect, but that can be expensive. Helena, using her artistic talent, created an excellent alternative — faux stained-glass windows.
She gathered her supplies and decided on a pattern. With the pattern printed on two sheets of paper, she taped them outside, facing into the house. Starting with black paint in a squeeze bottle with a thin tip, she outlined her stained-glass window design. Once that was done, she began adding color.

Thick, uneven coats give the glass the rippled effect of old stained-glass. She outlined the outer edge in blue, making it look like a frame. She added red flowers with green ribbon accents. The largest portion of the two panes is clear paint, giving the rippled effect. The design is simple, but it adds old-fashioned elegance to the window panes.
Helena promises a part two to show the next addition, but that isn’t up yet. You can check out Helena’s adorable farmhouse with all her tiny paintings on TikTok. If you would like to see the final stained-glass window project, follow Helena on her website, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
