The Artemis II spacecraft launched on April 1, 2026, for a 10-day deep space mission. The four astronauts on board are the first to venture to the Moon in 50 years. The historic mission does not include a Moon landing, but will allow crew members to take a close, personal look at the Moon. Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen tried their entire career to be part of Artemis II. This is a mission they will surely never forget.

One Artemis II Astronaut Shared Something Powerful from Space
According to Collin Rugg, one astronaut shared a message of faith during the message.
“Astronaut Victor Glover shares the Gospel from Artemis II before losing communication. ‘Christ said in response to what was the greatest command, that it was to love God with all that you are’. He said the second … that is to love your neighbor as yourself.’ The loss of communication is expected to last about 40 minutes,” Collin Rugg shared on X.
People loved hearing from Artemis II and knowing that Victor took his faith with him into space.
“Artemis II is inspiring the world. Astronaut Glover is standing firm in the faith on the world stage. What an amazing role model. He has a great story,” someone commented.
“Man every day I say it.. I’ve never seen someone that every time they have a statement come out of their mouth I wholeheartedly agree and support him like this man. I’m genuinely proud to be an American because of this example of a husband father and American pioneer,” another person added. “Victor Glover is a role model for all people, not just people of color!”
This person pointed out that Victor’s words are applicable to all.
“Victor Glover sharing those words during Artemis II adds a symbolic layer too, pairing human exploration with a reminder of core values like loving others and humility. Whether someone is religious or not, that emphasis on treating others well resonates pretty universally,” they shared.
Artemis II will return to Earth on April 10, 2026.
