As Kelley Smith’s 91-year-old grandpa held her baby, she could hardly wait to tell him what name they decided to give her: Justine. Why is this name so special? Because it was also the name of his beloved, late wife.
Grandpa was already on cloud 9 as he held his tiny great-granddaughter in his arms, making the moment he was asked “Okay, so you want the name?” all the more heartwarming.
“Are you kidding?” grandpa replied when he was given the news.
Once they confirmed their name choice, grandpa looked down at baby Justine and began to cry. He was lovingly told not to cry and that he’s “supposed to be happy,” but he assured them through tears that, “I am.”
What a beautiful way for Kelley’s family to honor such an important person in their lives. We’re sure baby Justine is going to love her name just as much!
