Did you know that actor Anthony Hopkins can also play the piano? Well, that’s a bit of an understatement — he’s actually really, really good. Someone recently captured an incredible video of the star playing the instrument in a hotel lobby in Vancouver. He may not have had an audience at the time, but the internet is falling in love with the hauntingly beautiful footage!
“Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver,” Sir Anthony Hopkins wrote on Instagram, where he posted the video. “Something about a piano in an empty lobby… PERFECT venue.”
Commenters were absolutely delighted by the impromptu concert from the man who brought fictional murderer Hannibal Lecter to life on screen in The Silence of the Lambs and its sequels.
“Imagine checking into your hotel & seeing Anthony Hopkins in the lobby absolutely shredding the pianers,” joked one user.
Besides being an A-list actor and an excellent piano player, Sir Anthony Hopkins also composes some of his own pieces! In fact, the celebrity often showcases his musical pursuits on social media. One of his waltzes, which he wrote over 50 years ago, was actually played by the Johann Strauss Orchestra in Vienna, Austria!
