Another “Reba” Reunion Is Brewing On “Happy’s Place”

Happy's Place Reba

Fans of the early 2000s WB sitcom Reba have loved Reba McEntire’s new show Happy’s Place on NBC. The show isn’t a spinoff and has nothing to do with the Hart family, but fans can’t help but see a bit of Reba Hart and Barbara Jean Hart in the show’s stars. Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterson, who played Reba and Barbara Jean in Reba, fit right back together in Happy’s Place. Seeing the pair made many Reba fans nostalgic, and it seems the producers knew just how to pull at their heartstrings. They brought in Steve Howey, who played Van Montgomery, for a cameo, and Christopher Rich, the former Brock Hart, to the show, too. It looks like we might get another cameo in season two.

Producers Hinted About Another Iconic “Reba” Character Having a Guest Spot On “Happy’s Place

Happy’s Place producers want Joanna Garcia Swisher, who played Cheyenne Montgomery on Reba, to Happy’s.

“We definitely want to bring Joanna [Garcia Swisher] in,” Kevin Abbott told TV Insider. “We’ve been talking to her. It’s a matter of timing for her.”

The news about season two came right as the cast and crew wrapped season one.

“The network told us that we were picked up for Season 2 the night of our last taping,” Kevin shared. “So just before we started taping at six o’clock that Tuesday night, they called us into the room and told us.” While the opportunity to continue telling these characters’ stories certainly excites Abbott, the pick-up shifts some of the planning.”

Happy’s Place is definitely a happy place for Reba McEntire fans who’ve grown to love her new character. Would we love a reboot to see what Reba, Barbara Jean, Van, and the gang are up to? Absolutely! But for now, we’ll take what we can get. Kevin, keep the guest stars coming!
