Thanks to this Amazon driver, a Florida family was given a gift money can’t buy: more time with their beloved pups.
While making deliveries, this unidentified driver noticed smoke coming from a home. Thanks to her keen eye, she was able to get in touch with the police who sent over first responders right away in hopes that no lives would be lost.
Thankfully, Lauren Sutton and her 7-month-old daughter, Remi weren’t home at the time – but the home wasn’t empty. Their three puppies were stuck inside with no way out… or at least until help arrived. Because of the Amazon driver’s timing, all three of them were saved!
These sweet pups were taken to a hospital where they were treated for lung damage from smoke inhalation. And because the home was destroyed, Lauren’s mom, Lisa Ann Dunn, created a GoFundMe to help cover medical costs in addition to securing and furnishing a new home.
It’s been a difficult journey for this small family, but in just a week’s time, they’re happy to share so many things they have to be grateful for! Not only have they raised nearly all the money they need, but all three puppies are happily back at home!
“Thank you to the Amazon driver who noticed the smoke and called 911,” the Columbia County Fire Rescue wrote on Facebook. “Since the homeowner was not at home at the time, she saved the home and the puppies’ lives!”
Lisa added in the comments, “Thank you will never be enough!”
