13-Yr-Old Soprano Sings Mozart— His Ethereal Voice Leaves Crowd Breathless.

There are some performers whose talents seem to transcend time and space. Take Norwegian soprano Aksel Rykkvin, for example.

Akel was only 13 years old when he gave the heaven-sent performance below. He is a classically trained singer who performs in the Children’s Chorus of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet and the Oslo Cathedral Boys’ Choir. He is also in high demand as an opera singer across Europe.

When Aksel performed Laudate Dominum by Mozart at a Christmas concert in 2016, the world sat up and took notice of this young child with the voice of an angel!

The video has been viewed almost two million times. In it, Aksel stands in a beautifully decorated cathedral surrounded by awe-struck audience members. The high ceilings provide the perfect acoustics for Aksel’s incredible voice, which soars and floats like a cloud.

This is truly the sort of voice that Mozart must have intended for this song, but what a surprise that it comes from a 13-year-old boy!

The adult choir behind Aksel provides the perfect backdrop for this soothing, beautiful melody.
