Every mom breathes a sigh of relief when they hear their newborn’s first cries after making their entrance into the world. For parents who have experienced pregnancy loss and miscarriage that sweet relief is all the more bittersweet.
Erin Blaskie has had ten pregnancies but only two of her children survived. Ten years after her first daughter was born, Erin and her husband tried to get pregnant over and over again, only to suffer seven miscarriages – but that isn’t where the story ends.
In fact, Erin’s story has a happy ending! At long last, she was able to deliver a healthy baby boy on October 9th, 2022. Seconds after he was born, a video shows Erin sobbing out of sheer joy and relief when she hears her son’s wails. It’s in that moment that she realizes their fertility journey was worth every single moment.
“Hearing him cry after seven miscarriages was one of the most incredible moments,” Erin wrote. “He’s real. I was in total disbelief that he was finally here.”
