When you begin a new relationship, love doesn’t happen immediately in most instances. As a couple spends time together, they grow closer. Eventually, if the chemistry is right, they may fall in love. Occasionally, people get messages that remind them why they fell in love. Isabel Judd experienced one of those moments where she realized she was totally in love with her boyfriend, Grant.

At a restaurant, a random kid sat across from Isabell’s boyfriend with a challenge to arm wrestle. The opponents set up. An unbiased third party (the kid’s dad, perhaps) entered the frame to check their grip. Pretend he advised them to keep it fair. The “referee” releases their hands to start the match.
The kid came out strong, bending Grant’s arm almost to the table. Grant gave it a Herculean push in the last second. The arms slowly crept up. Grant was pulling ahead. Then it was the kid’s turn for a resurgence. He brought the arms perpendicular. With a burst of strength, the kid pushed Grant’s arm to the table, almost flipping Grant out of his seat.

Grant’s dramatic flop and gracious loss to this young man was probably the precise moment Isabel made her realization. It was that self-sacrifice that made Isabel realize the depth of her love for her boyfriend. Watching a grown man playing with a kid he didn’t know and intentionally losing was heartwarming. It was a severely mismatched arm wrestling setup.
Grant and Isabel have since married and are living the good life. They have a French bulldog and currently treat him like their only child. Love is an incredible emotion, and receiving an unexpected reminder can brighten even the gloomiest of days.
