Silly Dare Turns Into Refreshingly Wholesome Interaction With Strangers

Would you dare to initiate a game of Duck, Duck, Goose with a group of total strangers? And would your answer change if doing so would get you a free drink? As amazing as free things are, many of us would simply have to turn down this offer. Interacting with strangers in any way can be stressful, but this might be one of the most intimidating. And yet when Emily Magennis gave this very offer to her sister, she took it… and it led to a wholesome interaction!

Here’s the context: Both Emily and her sister were at a music festival at Royal Highland Centre, located in Scotland. This meant that there were lots of people sitting on the ground, making it a great place to find a group for this beloved childhood game. Still, would anyone actually join in on the fun? Watch the video below to find out for yourself!

“Only in Scotland would people pass this vibe check,” someone wrote in reply to Emily’s popular video. Other commenters added, “I think if more strangers showed this much fun and love, our world might just heal some,” and “I watched a TikTok the other day of a guy who [did] this at a park and nobody joined in. So this has made me happy that they did join in with this one!”

It turns out, Emily has also seen the video the last commenter mentioned. In fact, that video is exactly what inspired her to make this offer to her sister. In other words, they were very much aware of the possibility that nobody would join in on the game. But in putting herself out there, she was able to make a lasting, wholesome memory! In fact, those strangers might not be such strangers anymore…

“That was our group!! Hahahah Shannon’s a legend, [of course] she was gonna chase,” a woman named Jen wrote, prompting Emily to reply, “I have been waiting for this comment!! You’re all absolute legends for joining in.”
