Welcoming your very first child into the world can be just as terrifying as it is exciting. This is especially true for younger parents like Maddie Nicole. She was only 16 years old when she gave birth to her son. After nine months of pregnancy, and the daunting task of giving birth, it’s no wonder she was feeling emotional. She may have thought that nobody else had noticed, but a kind nurse named April was nearby and needed to visit. April felt deeply for this teen mom. So much so, in fact, that this nurse took the time to write Maddie the sweetest note of encouragement. It has been around two years since that day, but Maddie still has that note. See it for yourself below!
“As a labor nurse… my teen moms always blow me away with their strength!” someone shares in reply to Maddie’s story. Another commenter adds, “I think about young moms often. I was 28 when I had my first and it was one of the hardest things I ever did. I can’t imagine being a teenager and doing it.”
Note of Encouragement from a Kind Labor Nurse Continues to Have a Huge Impact on This Teen Mom’s Life
So much has changed for Maddie over the last two years. For starters, the now 18-year-old mom has welcomed a second child into the world: a baby girl! And there is even more proof that April’s kindness made a huge difference…
“[April] also fed him and marked what time and how many ounces for me while I slept,” Maddie writes in the caption of her post. “I now start nursing school in January and strive to be like her.”
