A dog can go missing in the blink of an eye. That was certainly the case with Jordan and Book Allen’s dog, Whiskey. This small pup was roaming the backyard when he managed to discover a loose fence board. Curiosity quickly got the best of him. Before the couple knew it, Whiskey was taking off. Unfortunately, it did not take long for him to entirely disappear into the nearby wooded area.

Days passed without a single sighting of Whiskey. Eventually, Jordan and Book took the advice of someone who suggested they use a drone to help rescue their dog. They were willing to do just about anything to bring their dog home, so they got in contact with Chris Laughlin of Natural State Drone Solutions to locate Whiskey. But he didn’t simply locate the dog… he also helped him escape from the paws of a predator!

While scanning the woods, Chris noticed something unusual. There wasn’t just one animal — there were two. One was the Allen’s sweet dachshund, while the other was a fearsome coyote. By pure instinct, Chris says that he used the drone’s propeller wash to get the coyote to run away.

By the time Chris rescued Whiskey, four whole days had passed. In other words, it is absolutely incredible he arrived just in time — quite literally! Had his drone shown up even a few seconds later, it’s possible the coyote would have won the fight. Needless to say, both Jordan and Book are endless grateful for what Chris did.
“There was no way that we would’ve found [Whiskey] without that drone. He saved our family,” the couple says, “He’s a part of the family.”
