In 1945, a man named Alex Jordan had a dream to build a house, but not just any house. Alex set goals and began construction on a home and a man-made retreat. Now, 80 years later, The House on the Rock has been open to the public for 65 years and is one of the most spectacular attractions in the United States.

Who would you go here with? 🎪 House on the Rock 📍Spring Green, Wisconsin I wasn’t sure what to expect when visiting this house but I left with it being one of my favorite roadside attractions I’ve even been to. You’ll find the most unique collection of music boxes, dolls, and even the world’s largest carousel. I recommend planning about 3 hours here and purchasing some tokens to play the music boxes and machines. Have you been here? The Gate House creates a welcoming area with a fireplace and stone walls. The original house features 13 rooms linked by common elements. An Asian garden with a pond and a dragon fountain creates an oasis. The Alex Jordan Center tells the story of the founder.

The next section features displays about Nostalgia, the Spirit of Aviation, Music of Yesterday, and the Streets of Yesterday. Each area showcases historic artifacts and displays that celebrate our history. The Mill House includes one of the largest fireplaces in the world. Some of Alex’s renowned collections are housed there, including suits of armor, dolls, mechanical banks, and antique guns. This area also boasts a carousel with 20,000 lights, 269 animals, and is topped off with 182 chandeliers.

The majestic Organ Room centers around three theatre organ consoles connected by bridges, walkways, and spiral staircases. For an outside view of the House on the Rock from below, Inspiration Point offers a unique vantage point. You can also see the Infinity Room.

Additional attractions include the Doll House Room, the Galleries, the Circus Room, Japanese Gardens, and the Heritage of the Sea exhibit. The Infinity Room offers a breathtaking view of the valley along a 218-foot walkway enclosed by more than 3,000 panes of glass.

The House On The Rock Resort And Golf Course

The House on the Rock includes 80 two-room suites. Each room features a king-size bed, a sleeper sofa, or two queen-size beds. All rooms also include a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator.

The resort includes a 27-hole golf course. The challenging golf course offers beautiful landscaping and scenery throughout.

They recommend allowing at least three hours to go through the original house and attractions. However, staying overnight in the resort will allow you more time to adventure and explore all the wonders of Alex Jordan’s dream.
