Jenna Bush Hager had a hilarious faux pas during the Today Show on June 10 that left Al Roker a bit confused. They were talking about her grandmother, former First Lady Barbara Bush, and her new stamp. Jenna joked with Al Roker, “Remember when you made out with her, Al?”

The moment caught Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie, Carson Daly, and most importantly, Al Roker completely off guard.

But Jenna quickly doubled down, “Didn’t you kiss her?”

Within moments, Jenna Bush Hager looked at Al Roker and blurted, “That was Willard.” Speaking of former Today Show weatherman Willard Scott.

Al agreed, “That was Willard, other bald weather guy.”

“It was awkward on so many levels, so many levels,” Al said. “I’m thinking, ‘Did I make out with her grandmother?'”

Of course, he wanted everyone to know he had nothing but love for Barbara Bush, “Not that I wouldn’t have!”

Jenna was referring to the moment when Willard Scott kissed Barbara Bush during the 1989 Inaugural Parade. George H.W. Bush waved at Willard, and Barbara ran over to steal a kiss.

“How ’bout that?” Willard quipped. “I’ve been kissed by the best!”

Jenna Bush Hager shared her thoughts on the new stamp and what Barbara Bush’s 100th birthday would have been like. The Today Show shared images of the new stamp on Instagram, captioned,

“‘I feel like she’s still with us in a million different ways.’ Jenna Bush Hager announced the Post Office is issuing a new stamp honoring her grandmother, former first lady Barbara Bush. The Post Office says the stamps celebrate her spirit as a tireless advocate for literacy and her famously sharp sense of humor.”
