Garden’s Deer Deterrent Barrier Fails In The Best Possible Way

Image shows a raised garden bed with the deer barrier askew.

Have you ever had something fail so spectacularly that you look at it, shrug, and melt? That happened recently to TikTok user Dizzy Antelope. Living in Buffalo, New York, means starting your garden later due to cool temperatures. After planting potatoes in a raised bed, she added a deer barrier that was a complete fail.

The added protection is supposed to keep ruminants out. Dizzy hasn’t lost any vegetables yet, but there was a telltale sign that the deer barrier had failed. As she stared down at her potato patch, she saw something that didn’t belong there. She wasn’t even mad. It was a shrug and melt moment.

Left her baby in my potato patch! Yes I left a bunch of snacks for momma when she comes back🙌❤️ #foryoupage #viral #animals #cute #aww #adorable #fyp

Seeing the little fawn resting in the potato patch was too cute. Rather than attempt to move the tiny animal, Dizzy tossed some extra snacks for the mom when she decided to pick her kid up from “day care.” If the momma deer feels safe enough, this “day care” arrangement might become regular until the fawn joins its mom foraging.

Caring for lost and wayward critters is nothing new for Dizzy. She is a full-time cat foster mom and a rescue worker for Tabby Town. She fits the description of “crazy cat lady” almost to a tee. Although she knows she can’t save them all, she is trying. Her TikTok page has hundreds of kittens and cats she has fostered. It does cause one to wonder how many fosters failed as spectacularly as that deer barrier.

Please share if you would have shrugged, sighed, and smiled if this were your garden.
