Loving Couple Has 3 Simply Beautiful Secrets For Their 82-Year Long Marriage.

There are so many things that go into a healthy relationship, and Nicholas and Rafaela Ordaz have figured out what those things are.

Why? Because the couple have been happily married for 82 years! They celebrated their anniversary just after Rafaela turned 102, and her husband is 100.

And they’re no strangers to long marriages. According to one of the couple’s grandchildren, “Their parents lived to be 112 and 108, and they were also happily married. Divorce isn’t really something our family has experienced,” said Leticia Ordaz. “Nurturing those relationships is a huge part of our culture.”

It’s amazing, but the two aren’t just complacent in their relationship, they’re still very much in love. In fact, Ordaz referenced the anniversary party noting that “They’re still so in love. It’s quite remarkable. In every picture, they’re holding hands or trying to kiss each other.”

So here are the real secrets, according to Nicholas and Rafaela. First, they always keep mutual respect as a priority. Along with that, “not sweating the small stuff” is a key to longevity.

It’s beautiful to behold.

“When they celebrated their 75th anniversary, they had a big wedding party to renew their vows. It was at that point that we thought, ‘Wow, this is special.’ We started doing research to see if they were breaking any records.”

While they have just a few years to take the title from U.S. couple Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher – who were married for 86 years and 290 days before one passed away, according to the Guinness World Records.

One of the most adorable things Leticia said was that “Now that they’re getting older, their memories aren’t as sharp. They forget everyone else’s names, but always remember each other.”
