73-Yr-Old With “Weak Legs” Dives Into 6-Ft Pit To Rescue Drowning Baby.

As a 73-year-old man was working near a pit of water, a toddler and his baby sister found themselves caught in a life-threatening situation.

As the two of them got closer to the water, the 1-year-old fell inside, prompting the toddler to scream out for help. Without hesitation, the elderly man ran over to them as fast as he could. Because he has weak legs, he knew that helping them wouldn’t be easy, but that still didn’t stop him from leaping into the water as soon as he realized the baby was drowning.

Once the child was safe in his arms, the water was too cold for them to get out alone. Thankfully, though, some nearby residents were quick to help them both out of the 2 meter (nearly 7 ft.) deep water. Both the man and baby received medical care, but thanks to everyone’s help, they’re both doing great!

Since the video of the rescue has gotten over 1 million views, the elderly man is being praised around the world for being a hero. But if you ask him, he’ll just say: “I was the only person there. If I hadn’t gone to rescue her who would?”

Watch the elderly man’s heroic rescue below and don’t forget to share.
