We’re All Thinking It: “My 6-Year-Old’s Thoughts On The Cyber Trucks”

The Tesla Cybertruck has divided the nation into two camps. Some absolutely love the triangular-shaped, boxy-looking stainless steel truck. Others compare the design to a kitchen trash can or a corner dumpster. No matter which camp you fall into, you will agree that this 6-year-old happened upon the most perfect description ever!

If you have trouble understanding her little girl voice, she said, “The Cybertruck looks like a ba-tatoe peeled wif a knife.” Although the body is stainless steel, they can come with vinyl wraps, or “skins,” to offer them in different colors. The one they’re looking at is Satin Ceramic White, which is the least costly of the vinyl wraps.

Now that you can’t unsee that description, we decided to test the theory with a real “ba-tatoe,” and this was the result:

And the verdict is? The child is definitely not wrong. The Tesla Cybertruck looks like a potato peeled with a knife. We used a standard russet potato and reached into the bag blindly to avoid influencing the selection. We like our fingers, so we looked while peeling.

Look At The Specs For The Tesla Cybertruck

If you’ve missed all the hype about the Tesla Cybertruck and have no clue what they are, here is a short primer. The truck was first introduced in 2019 as a concept car. The battery-powered electric pickup truck hit the market in 2023 with a hefty price tag. The body consists of stainless steel sheets, much like the DeLorean of the early 1980s.

The DeLorean became well-known in the “Back to the Future” movies. It was not a big seller and only enjoyed two years of production (1981 to 1983). Unlike the small, two-door Delorean, the Cybertruck is a full-sized truck (it fits Shaq!). The vehicle specifications claim it can haul 2,500 pounds in the bed and tow up to 11,000 pounds. Tesla claims the battery can travel 325 miles on a single charge.

Someone made a paper pattern for the truck. Creative cat owners enlarged the pattern and gave their pets a humorous treat. We still think the potato description fits, but Bosko likes his new ride.

If you’ve been eyeballing the Tesla Cybertruck as your next vehicle, we hope we didn’t spoil it for you. Please share if you agree the trucks look like a potato peeled with a knife.
